Abstract

Lead toxicity is a significant environmental and health concern, causing oxidative stress and hematologic alterations. This study investigates the potential protective effects of Artocarpus heterophyllus (AH) against lead-induced hematologic and oxidative damage in mice. Mice were divided into seven groups and exposed to lead acetate, with different groups receiving various parts of AH (seed, fruit, leaf, bark). Hematologic parameters, oxidative stress markers, and histopathology of vital organs were analyzed. The results showed that AH mitigated lead-induced alterations by improving antioxidant enzyme activities and restoring hematologic indices. These findings suggest AH as a potential therapeutic agent for lead toxicity.
